\nThe main focus of IVM\u2019s products is\u00a0the measurement of what happens at the wheel-rail interface<\/strong>.
\nIVM is continuously developing solutions to analyze this interaction in both static and dynamic conditions by exploiting cutting-edge technologies.<\/p>\n

IVM embraces the idea\u00a0of\u00a0a continuous improvement and evolution\u00a0as\u00a0the key to operate successfully in the highly competitive railway market.\u00a0To this end, IVM embraces the innovation and it is able to develop all\u00a0the phases of product creation:\u00a0design,\u00a0production, distribution and\u00a0data analysis.\u00a0This is done internally\u00a0by highly skilled resources and\u00a0it is made possible by the\u00a0investment of around 30% of its resources in R&D activities.<\/p>\n

IVM\u2019s\u00a0products require multidisciplinary skills and advanced engineering competences.\u00a0This is especially true for the wheel-rail interaction: it generates mechanical stresses on the rails and on the rolling stock and those stresses are governed by physical laws that are not easily decomposable in the form of single separated effects. Thanks to a long in-field experience, IVM is convinced that\u00a0to the extent of monitoring purposes, multiple measuring\u00a0points\u00a0are required,\u00a0and each of them needs to\u00a0sample\u00a0data at high frequency. However, in order\u00a0to extract the informative content for diagnostic purposes, it is necessary to adopt an integrated analytical approach.<\/p>\n

Modern technologies\u00a0allow\u00a0the adoption\u00a0of multiple sensors\u00a0thus increasing\u00a0the available data,\u00a0but IVM’s\u00a0integrated and holistic vision is able to increase the\u00a0informative content of the monitored phenomenon\u00a0in order to\u00a0extract the deep and hidden behaviours\u00a0of\u00a0the wheel-rail interaction.<\/p>\n

To this extent, IVM has developed algorithms and cloud infrastructures to manage such complexity, by using modern Big Data technologies and Machine Learning Techniques.<\/p>\n
